From Georgia State University Foundation Board Chair Kevin Lofton:
“Georgia State Day — our annual day of celebration and giving in support of GSU students — has grown into one of the university’s signature events for the entire GSU community.
It’s a time for alumni, students, faculty, staff and donors to come together to advance Georgia State’s mission and raise the funds that provide GSU students — the majority of whom have unmet financial needs every semester — the resources they need to thrive.
In support of Georgia State Day’s objective, and on behalf of the Georgia State University Foundation Board, I’m pleased to announce that the board has voted to provide $200,000 for two giving day challenges.
First, the Foundation will match dollar-for-dollar each Georgia State Day donation to university-wide scholarships — up to $100,000.
Second, 100 Georgia State Day gifts to Athletics will unlock a gift from the GSU Foundation Board in the amount of $100,000 to the Intercollegiate Athletics Fund.
Georgia State is Atlanta’s university, and all of us on the Foundation Board invest in GSU because we care passionately about its mission and believe in its vital role for the city, the state of Georgia, the country and beyond.
I hope you’ll give and help unlock the Foundation Board’s giving challenges.
Thanks for your support of GSU and for giving Panthers a hand on Georgia State Day. Go Panthers!”
